A Summer of Serenity

July Update from Shelley

At the end of June, the studio took a restorative pause. I traded my mat for the cobblestone streets of Europe, embracing the wisdom of rest and the joy of disconnection with my family. Rest is not an absence of movement; it is the silent strength that prepares us for what is next.

Tracing Rest Through Europe

In Paris, I found stillness amidst the grandeur of the Louvre, the iconic Eiffel Tower, and the quiet hum of the Seine.

The historic Piazza Castello in Turin featuring elegant stone architecture.

Turin taught me the art of the 'passeggiata'—a slow, mindful walk to celebrate the end of a long day.

Mindful Movement Minimalized

Whether it's the sands of Juan Les Pins or your own backyard, serenity is portable. I invite you to keep moving, but gently. Focus on the breath as you travel, and let the summer warmth loosen your body.

5-minute movement snack:  Move Every 30 to 60 minutes. Stand up, stretch, or walk around to boost blood flow, increase energy, and release feel-good hormones. Breaking your sitting time into micro-sessions prevents stiffness and easily adds up to your daily movement goals.

A Note from Shelley

"As I wander through the streets of Europe, I am reminded that rest isn't just about stopping—it's about replenishing your soul. True wellness begins the moment you give yourself permission to simply be."
